Dumb Laws

Ok, this is a place to post/rant about dumb laws and ordinances. I shall start, because something I saw on the news today has inspired me to rant!

New Local Ordinance

The link contains some cuss words because, well, when I get p***ed off, I cuss!

OMG that's one of the stupidest laws i have ever seen. What happens if a FedEx truck has to drop something off or someone wants to have Cable TV or a phoneline installed, but the cable company's trucks can't park in front of the house.

That sounds like the type of law that fits under the "annoyance" category. It would only be enforced if somebody from "outside" was annoying someone from "inside" the town. There are some pretty dumb laws . . . but there are still places where public urination is legal!

Ridiculous law. Maybe the state Supreme Court will strike it down, unless they're on the same drugs the legistation writers are on.
I woudl be very surprised if this legislation was actulyl inforced that much. I sopose the police will get a few calls about law breakers. Without reading the code I cna;t say much about it but it's probably liek Adultry: it only maters if somebody complains.

Keep in mind that this is a brand-new law, enacted just last week for the first time. It's also an ordinance applying only to one small town with a population of about 4,000.

http://www.city-data.com/city/Woodstock ... ia.html
Hmmm.. IT's farther north then I would expect it.

"Nearest city with pop. 50,000+: Reston, VA (80.2 miles, pop. 56,407)."

Ahhh Reston. I will be ther in a few eeks actully. I would argue about it's status as a city. It has been quite a local political issue over the years. I could go on and on about it. It's nice to see it writne somewhere. I am surprised though that no oter "cities" (some of them much more deserving of that term) in Farifax Couty have more then 50,000 people and are closer. MAybe CHantilly or Centerville or Sprignfield. Ah Well.
