If it does cross the line, I still say it should be legal on principle. However, if it crosses the line, it shouldn't have been published in the first place.

As for Felix's link... Heh. http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/R/ ... Which makes it illegal to not possess luxury items.

heh..

I forget what there is VAT on that there shouldn't be. I know there's none on food, but I think there's VAT on fuel. Basically, a combination of the government and the EU don't seem to get that VAT isn't meant to be on everything, just luxury items (as in, items not neccisary. Computer, sure. Clothing... Umm... Nup).

I think it's one of the reasons the cost of living over here is so much more expensive than in the US.

I don't know how many UK people will get this but from the perspective of American slang, its very amusing. I thought it was pretty funny.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/engl ... 507.stm

I'm not sure we want to let on what that means in American slang . . .

And it just gets worse, doesn't it?

Trust me. We get that. Or at least I do.

...Not as bad as the fact UK slang for a cigerette is a fag, though. "I'm just going off to smoke a fag." has a stupidly coherant double meaning.

Would you re-elect a sheriff that openly admitted that he believed in ghosts? Remember, in the US sheriffs are elected in most places, so this whole thing is already a mess for him!
