Deputy: Woman skinned puppy to make belt
MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) — A 23-year-old woman is accused of getting friend to kill her Jack Russell terrier and skinning the puppy to make a belt out of its hide.

Krystal Lynn Lewis and Austin Michael Mullins, 26, were being held Friday in the Muskogee County jail on $25,000 bail each. They were charged with one felony count of cruelty to animals.

"We're talking about a 6- or 7-week-old defenseless puppy," said sheriff's deputy George Roberson. "That's pretty heinous and sadistic."

A Muskogee County judge ordered a mental competency hearing for both defendants.

Lewis wanted the puppy, named Poplin, killed because it was a gift from a female ex-lover with whom she doesn't get along, said Muskogee County sheriff's deputy George Roberson.

Roberson said Mullins shot the terrier 10 times with a .22-caliber pistol. Lewis skinned the animal at her apartment and nailed the hide to a board.

Kind of makes you wonder why you can kill any number of farm animals but not a dog? Seems like a bit of a contradiction (although the lady is still a crazy physco)

Seeeee, myyyy vest! See my vest! Made from real Gorilla chest! See this sweater? There's not better than authentic Irish Setter. See this hat? T'was my cat. My Evening wear, a vampire bat. See this slippers are albino african endagered rhino. Grizzly bear underwear. Turtle necks, I've got my share. A beret of poodle on my noodle it shall rest. Try my red robin suit. It comes in on breast or two. See my vest, see my vest, see my vest! Like my loafers former gofers. Is that or skin my shoulders. But a grey hound tuxedo would be best. So let's prepare these dogs. Kill two for matching clogs. See my vest, See my vest, seeeee myyyyy veeesst!

I really like the vest!

[edit] but seriously that is horrible.

If she doesn't scare you, no evil thing will.

I'm surprised this didn't come to mind immediately. Probably obscured by the lesbianism.

When my dad was in high school, they dissected cats for biology class. After they were done, his classmates skinned the "specimens" and made the teacher a kitten-skin vest.

He told me that story over a decade ago, and to this day, I still can't decide whether it's hilarious or horrifying :-P

It's quite obvious. You're only allowed to kill things that taste delicious and/or don't scream in pain.

Earthlings

This is pretty gut-wrenching. It should be required viewing for anyone who eats meat or consumes any animal products... The biggest sin of all is ignoring the reality of what it takes to feed you.

Ugh I watched something on animal planet once about how horribly cows and chickens are treated. I don't think I want to watch that. I eat meat anyway though. I'm such a hypocrite.

Yeah but the majority of people who eat meat are oblivious or don't care. I actually care about that, because it's ridiculous how much meat Americans eat as if they need to eat so much. But I eat it anyway.

Increases your risk of cancer, yes. Especially red meat.

Yeah, I still eat meat too, but I do try to be more aware of how much I eat now.

The amount of meat Americans eat is bad from a purely personal heath-centered perspective as well.
