Yet another post that vaguely has to do with Simpson... (it would appear he is the world with us). Well, he did post it in his LJ

http://americanassembler.com/features/i ... br>
I'm 15th. Woo.

Also it's pretty neat that it basically goes (from top to about center)

Bunch of democrat, exception state, bunch of democrat, exception, democrat, exception, 2 democrat.

Now if we flip it and go from bottom to about center...

Bunch of republican, exception state, bunch of republican, exception, republican, exception, 2 republican.

W007! I'm 10th!

That is kind of odd. I'd say it's more an effect of the differences in education between the north and the south.

I've always thought it weird that the south is republican and the north is democratic. Considering that republicans typically support big business while the democrats tend to serve the common man, one would think that big business republicans would be in the north where big business is centered, and the democrats in the more rural south.

40? Oh.. heh

Actually, DF, that is not very surprising.. the Democrat party favors centralized government control, while the Republican party is in favor of more local control, a system that also tends to favor businesses. When you consider that the Civil War was essentially about the right for southern states to secede, the pattern is much more obvious.

The part I found scary is the article it links to on misconceptions. I remember hearing someone say once that North Americans don't pay as much attention to politics as they should given that they can vote, and I'd agree with that.

What about Zaaph or Simpson? They're in the (not so) great state of Washington.

Well, I don't know about me, but I'm sure DCS raised the average IQ a bit.

And as voting patterns go, Washington state voted Democratic in the last 4 presidential elections, but Republican in the 4 prior to that.
