Everyone here is so isolated, and being open to the world is still so new to us all. Let's kick off this new forum with a statement of our interests toward this world in which we live. Be it about something local, regional, national, or just totally outside your range of expertise, I would like everyone to post something that would interest him or herself or anyone else in this forum right away.

It's your turn. Speak up!

Anything about politics, espessially national or international stuff and esspesially civil rights issues (gay marriage, voulintary euthinasia (both of which I support) ect.) I'd probably be interested in economics too if I could understand it. Religions are of some interest to me as well, even though I'm Agnostic myself.

(Edit: oh and development and use of science and technologies.)

I don't really care what goes on in the world, local kinda stuff has more interest for me as long as it isn't something boring like politics or 'a visit from the Queen' or something.

Technology, to be frank. Any sort, developments, new creations, old designs put into action (the Da Vinci car creation for example). Also, politics to some extent, but most of it is lost on me.

I miss Beyond 2000.

............
Well, i think if this is to exist, pretty much anything should go. anything, that is, but spam... and of coarse is appropriate for all ages.

It interests me that if coal is ingored the worlds non-renewable enregy reserves will be gone in 75 years and coal adds another couple hundered or so. There shoudl be more tehchnlogy to find viable non-renewable energy sourses for almost all of our energy neads.

That plus the hace that Britian is slowly sinking into the ocean.

I keep up with politics, international and national, every aspect as much as i can, but politics is like the stock market, you leave it for a few hours and you miss something, so don't get caught up too much, unless you're studying it of course.

Religion i don't really need to keep up with - it's stagnant, only when it finds something to restrict. And what with the general stance of the Bush government, that's been many.

I'm very open minded in most matters, civil, social and cultural events of freedom and choice interest me, i'll support enviroment protection, national education increases, equal rights for gays, the choice to have an abortion, voluntary euthanasia, sexual preference etc. etc.

There are cases when i will be traditional however, but that's very much my personal life and not affecting anyone else (stuff like comics merchandising and musical interest). On the supposed big issues, like politics and religion i'm on the whole liberal and completely atheist respectively.

But you can prefer anything you want, so long as you don't use that for intentional harm on others or let it cloud your views too much, there are some things beyond political preference.

I'm interested in conflicts, history, technology and culture from countries around the world. Although lately I haven't been keeping up.

I do my best to avoid political and religious discussions like the plague. In my experience, they almost invariably degenerate into unpleasantness.

Some of you may already know that I really don't get out much

I probably don't keep up with politics as much as I should, but I keep mind of what's going on in the world.

I try to avoid religion. It scares me.

Technology and advancements I'm all for. I Highly support genetic research and stem cell research, as well as biotechnological advancements, so do expect me to defend it should there be any controversy on the matter, but I will keep civil.

And I support gay marriage, too, as that's one of the hotter topics of the moment.

I'm big big big on Civil Rights (especially for homosexuals, including marriage), and the environment, but I'm not going to debate anyone on religion.
