'Twas the night before Christmas
And up at the North Pole
Everybody's going crazy
Everything's out of control
The toy shop is on fire
Toys melting on the shelves
And you can hear Mrs. Claus screaming
"I warned ya, never trust those elves!"

Unless something drastic happens fast
We'll say hello to the Ghost of Christmas Past

Because Rudolph's puking balls of holly
And old Saint Nick ain't all that jolly
And the sleigh's in the shop 'cause it's broken down
But Christmas won't stop...
'Cause Santa Claus is thumbing to town!
(HO HO!) Santa Claus is thumbing to town!
(HO HO!) Santa Claus is thumbing to town!
(HO HO!) Santa Claus is thumbing to town!
(HO HO!)

Very much to his disliking
Santa spent all night hitchhiking
With a sign that reads "HO HO, SLOW DOWN"
Santa Claus is thumbing to town!

Every car just drove right past 'im
And sped right out of sight
Santa never got to ask 'em
To drive around the world in just one night
So Kris Kringle started walking
Through the snow without his sleigh
He shed a tear for every stocking
That would be empty Christmas Day

Unless something drastic happens fast
We'll say hello to the Ghost of Christmas Past

Because Rudolph's puking balls of holly
And old Saint Nick ain't all that jolly
And the sleigh's in the shop 'cause it's broken down
But Christmas won't stop...
'Cause Santa Claus is thumbing to town!
(HO HO!) Santa Claus is thumbing to town!
(HO HO!) Santa Claus is thumbing to town!
(HO HO!) Santa Claus is thumbing to town!
(HO HO!)

Very much to his disliking

With a sign that reads "HO HO, SLOW DOWN"
Santa Claus is thumbing to town!

Didn't you ever notice the name "Santa" is an anagram of "Satan"?

I've been using that joke for years lol.
It's no joke. (We merely added "Saint" to make it seem ok...)

You're disregarding that there was a historical Saint Nicholas who lived several centuries before Northern European or Anglo-Saxon influence to our current English language can be said to have derived the term "Nick" from a demonic figure.

I think you're a bit mixed up. No one fabricated Saint Nicholas, he is the quite real basis for Santa.

Santa being an anagram of Satan is quite meaningless, since "santa" is derived from "sanctus" (saint). Santa Claus is the modern legend of Saint Nicholas, that's all.

Please stop seeing connections where there are none.

different versions of the name "nicholas" mean different things. the form "nick" is a devil, but I think that "saint nick" was shortened from "saint nicholas" after people forgot the different meanings.

Interestingly enough, Pumpernickel bread means "the devil's fart". Pumper being ancient German for "lol u farted" and Nickel, as stated above, being the devil.

Isn't that just a little chunk of knowledge gold?
