Vaios are too expensive for what they are.

I had a horrible cheap Dell Inspiron 1000 (£250 was the cheapest laptop around when I bought it) and I'm glad to be rid of it now. That said, I've never had any problems with it - it's just really slow. Even worse now my sister put Windows back on it. It was bearable with Ubuntu, but XP and whatever crap she's installed with it just slows it down horribly.

Typing this on a computer I built myself from parts - but I am using a Dell monitor which is, by the way, excellent.
Oh, well. Other than the fried motherboard problem, I haven't had any other problems with the Vaio.
A fried motherboard isn't that small of a problem. :P

Took about ten days for Sony to ship the packing box out (free of charge), ship it out, and get it back (had to go to a UPS center to claim it)

I am SICK and TIRED of COMPUTER SNOBS telling me the COMPUTERS I HAVE are no GOOD. D:<

They fecking WORK. THE END.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

What problem? That people are using a type of computer that you don't like?

I'm not saying Vaios are bad when they work, but they have a higher tendancy to break than other brands. Such as fried motherboards.

WEll, it might have been my own fault, since I knew the outlet was faulty, and I had plugged directly into the outlet instead of a surge protector.

Well I'm typing this on a Sony Vaio but it would be a Dell if I were at work or on my parents computer. They haven't had any problems with Dell thus far but then again, they haven't had to deal with their customer service yet. Nor would they really need to for some simple things as I've got mad skillz when it comes to computer repair and troubleshooting

i'm quite happy with my toshiba. and staples seems like it has better deals for moderately priced laptops with a usable graphics card than best buy.

as for dell and sony...both seem overpriced, but at least they aren't HP.

HEY! I'm on an HP (my desktop), and am considering using my stimulus check to get a new hard drive, once I figure out how to move all the pics I have on here to it.

My Dell works wonderfully, and it damn well better, considering what I paid.

A Soviet iPod. The mind reels....
Someone used to have an icon showing the USSR in silhouette wearing an iPod. The caption: "In Soviet Russia, Pod i's YOU!"

Acer user here. As of sometime after the story about them recalling all those PCs because the preloadedware was insecure, and I'm not ashamed. Real geeks don't back down from a challenge.

Unless it's scaling the ceiling high MEHTUL poles of the wall mounted climbing frame in the school gym with the back of their shorts upturned to reveal the name and address tag sewn on by their mothers, all to a nasty chorus of the classes most vocal bullies chanting for him to drop.
