I just try to make a habit of NOT generating conclusions based on inferences and limited conclusions. Otherwise known as "assuming". "Stop throwing around extra terms like that. You're tryng to make yourself look smarter, and you're not fooling anyone." Oh, shut up, self. "Why? It's not my fault you're an insensitive clod. I resemble that remark! Er...I mean... "See? This is exactly what I'm talking about. If anything, I should be the one hitting YOU with a board." BE QUIET, you insufferable pest! Make me. Fine. *Knocks Self senseless with a dead Norwegian blue parrot* ... What? So...yeah. I just hate when I assume like that.

It's fine to assume, so long as those assumptions are implicitly or explicitly defined. For instance, I'm assuming that my little comment is actually helpful to the subject matter. (It probably is not.)

Which is my problem here. I made a baseless assumption without announcing that it was an assumption. Generally I'll preface such thing with "Correct me if I'm wrong...", but I somehow neglected to do this. Which made me really mad. At myself.

not be so hard on yourself Gostway. Well we all make mistakes. That is part of being human. If I beat myself up everytime I made a mistake I would be in the hospital by now.

Guess it's just the stress of finals getting to me. I also tend to be incredibly sarcastic. I was also exaggerating more than a little bit. That whack, the following monolouge, and the subsequent re-whack were all the (online) equivalent of me saying "oh, whoops". So... just... drop... the issue. This discussion is starting to get on my nerves... EDIT: Removed extraneous material.

I seem to have unintentionally derailed this topic. I guess I was just trying to protect myself. Force of habit, left over from other forums.
