Meat Thermometer of Doom
A fatal meat thermometer. When stabbed into a victim, it releases tiny explosive Nanobots into the bloodstream. when the thermometer reaches 96 degrees, all of the nanobots explode. Victims of the meat Thermometer of Doom often appear to have died of Massive heart attacks. 90% of all deaths in the United States are caused by the Meat Thermometer of Doom.

Seems kind of overkill. You probably could have just set up a rube goldberg device of some kind, perhaps involving marmosets, which through a long series of barely related activities would eventuate in me tripping and dropping the thingy. Or: you could have just lifted it out of my hands like so after I had been distracted, possibly through the use of an extremely tedious rant on rube goldbergian machinations.
