Edit: Also, segovia, what will you do if your parents find you looking at YIFF?
I have my ways but if they did they'll probably respond the same way as to when I first started drawing boobs on girls, they'll asume it's a phase and just let me be.
I anxiously await the day that your parents catch you whacking it to Krystal porn.

Look up Ghost In The Shell or Azumanga Daioh.
AD is just... *eyetwitch*

I tried to give it a chance. I really did. But just like with Lucky Star, I had to quit after a few episodes. Cannot stand slice-of-life animes; they bore me to tears.

On the other hand, Ghost In The Shell seems decent. Haven't watched a full series or anything, just a few episodes here and there when they were shown on late-night TV, but they seemed interesting enough.

Segovia, look into Spice And Wolf. It's got 3 things that you'd like: an attractive female wolf god (with occasional nude-without-being-explicit shots), lots of talk about economics (which is surprisingly interesting for some reason), and... well whatever, just watch it, it's friggin amazing. One of the groups subbing it added extra notes from the light novels at the end of most episodes to help explain things that weren't entirely clear, but I don't know the name of the group. I'll ask my friend about it if I get the chance.

Regarding Death Note, which you mentioned earlier, personally I enjoyed it up until the halfway point. Up until that point, it had a lot of good things going for it, but once that major plot twist hit, the series kinda went into a downhill dive, becoming overly complicated and not nearly as interesting. Not bad overall though.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you.

ANIMU
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I read about halfway into Death Note, and then I quit just because I'd read so much and wanted a break. Then I never got back into it... I'm not sure exactly which twist Dan didn't like.

Halfway through, a major character dies. I was fine with that twist itself, but the entire plot after that point just got too muddled.

oh you mean L. Yeah, I mean the orphanage revelation looked really interesting, but I agree that I just didn't care anymore.

I watched the first episode, but haven't bothered to pick it up since. What I saw seemed interesting enough.
I actually figured out I'm not the biggest fan of anime, mostly because even the slightest bad/corny voice acting bugs the absolute piss out of me, and that's just about every anime ever, give or take the few I'll actually watch. Sometimes I'll watch the Japanese version of a show, but that's usually just when the english version sucked everything cool out of it.

Oh, that's a good point. If anyone gets Azumanga Daioh, for the love of god get a subbed version. Ghost In The Shell doesn't matter so much, the voices are decent in English. As a show with lots of action, it's nice not having to concentrate on the bottom of the screen when there's lot of stuff going on. It annoys me though how the US only seems to have about 30 voice actors that work on anime. Over so many different English dubs you'll hear the same voices over and over again.
