I Survived A Hurricane!

Postby Tophat_John » Tue Sep 30, 2008 3:26 pm

Sorry everyone for my late response, but Hurricane Ike hit my hometown of Houston and we were without power for about a week, but I survived and I am doing just fine.

Just letting you know.

Ever drifting down the stream--
Lingering in the golden gleam--
Life, what is it but a dream?

Heeyyy I was there too.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

And I'm very glad that the both of you are OK.

Good to see you survived with no electricity for a week! =P
In all seriousness, I'm glad you're okay.

Everyone gets buttons. Even the ones who were no where near it. We all survived the hurricane.

We all survived the hurricane.
Except the people who didn't! Poor them. They should have a pity button.

Reminds me of something I read once.

You know you're in Atlanta when: if a single snowflake falls, the city is paralyzed for three weeks and there will be vendors on every street corner selling "I survived the blizzard!" t-shirts.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving is not for you.

As opposed to here, where if we get 5 feet of snow the city will START to consider plowing the streets.

Back in elementary school, the schools got closed once because there was a chance it might snow. It didn't snow of course, and such an incident never happened again, but it was awesome while it lasted.

We don't get much snow down this end of the Earth. Or quakes. Or hurricanes. Or blizzards. Or tornados. Or giant skyscraper-eating lizards. We haz no fun, ever. =(

Also! Good job on surviving! You've passed hurricane survival school! *hands over a certificate* \8D/

Did YOU go outside and almost get impaled by half a tree, as Angela did? 8O
