Same as last year, folks. Challenge yourself to read at least 5.0 books this year. It's good for the intellect, improves your concentration and reading comprehension, and may even be just plain enjoyable. Eyesight damage from reading in low light is a myth.

1. Pandora's Star, Peter Hamilton
2. Judas Unchained, Peter Hamilton
3. The Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Douglas Adams

Eyesight damage from reading in low light is a myth
Studies are all over the place on this one from my readings, monkeys with their eyes shut then exposed to regular light get nearsighted, as do chickens not exposed to enough light in general. But monkeys exposed to all dark vs dark/light cycles had no significant difference. My eye doc told me the only evidence they have for humans is fairly sound but not quite damning theory about children getting nearsighted from dark-reading and a correlation between people who read a lot (dark or not) and nearsightedness.

I may read more this year, let's see how this goes

Eyesight damage from reading in low light is a myth.

no its not... it is actually "damaging" your eyes. In fact, your "rear sight muscles" in your eyes will "work" twice or more as hard, to get a clear view on the book, especially in low light situations. The effects are fairly torlerable, you wont "loose" your sight, but you will need a glass sooner than expected (normal light). Because cos of the stress for the muscles, they will "grow tired" but wont recover... that is what I learned about it over here..

but as mentioned before... those are therories... I stick to mine :P

That was Dr. Jakkal with the medicine Report...

and YES, I actually read the whole books below...

1. "Die Orks" by Stan Nicholls
2. "Neuroanatomie" by Trepel
3. "Lernbuch Anatomie" by Lippert
4. "Biochemie" by Müller-Esterl
5. "Kurzlehrbuch Biochemie" by Müller-Esterl

Already one-third done in one-sixth of the year, assuming I don't have a mental breakdown before then. :dragon:
