...it's as if, in the middle of a deep and serious lecture on mankind's crisis of identity in the latter half of the 20th century, the professor's alternate retard personality took over and started going "DURRRRRRR" all over the place.

Anyway getting to the discussion part of this thread, I love this song called The Zephyr Song by RHCP. The song itself is pretty solid, but the music video is...well, trippy. I think it belongs in the 70's.

I haven't listened to anything by RHCP in years...I couldn't even recall my favorite song by them if I tried.

Dani California has always been a good song in my book, as have Scar Tissue and On Mercury. They have a nice laid back sound that I like.

Scar Tissue is a song that annoys me to no end.

Californication on the other hand, is fab.

You must listen to Wet Sand! It's like my favorite song from them!

Californication is one of my favourite portmanteaus ever.

I used to really like RHCP until I listened to Primus. Now the Chillis sound like, and I mean this with no offense, "kiddie funk", ie, the sort of music kids listen to.

Maybe that's because I was a kid when I listened to them, but I just can't take them seriously.

Wheras Primus aren't serious.

Wet Sand is okay. I prefer Death of a Martian to a lot of the songs on there, though.

Californication is boss, however. Most assuredly.

Death of a Martian is also Freakin' awesome! If you ask me if there was one theme song for Ozy and Millie it would be that song. It just reminds me of it so much and everytime I read a strip and listen to it, they both match together. I also like "Make You Feel Better."

On a different note from 'hey let's link to songs we like' I heard of this rather amusing bit of French news - http://torrentfreak.com/france-passes-t ... aw-090512/

Doog and I had a little chat a while back relating to this. Why can't most musicians just ditch the record company and set up a competent website and offer their songs for free and make money from donations/merchandise/ticket sales?

I know reasons against it can be listed, but is it so difficult? If such a system was set up would it be easier to get lost among the many voices than being passed over in a music store?

Greed is a powerful force, Jack, as sad as that is. I would love it if more artists gave their music away for free, or at least a song or two, rather than cheap 30 second clips that don't give you a feel for anything.

Yeah, greed is certainly a factor but doesn't the most profit come from merchandise and ticket sales nowadays?
