Yes, everything you see there below the horizon is lake, not land... the dark strip on the left horizon is Canada, about 6-10 miles away.
Do you happen to live in or near Angle Inlet?

Gets cold, but we don't normally get the amount of snowfall up on the border that they get 50+ miles south. As long as you pay attention to the conditions, winter driving isn't bad, just more interesting.
