Bye, Bye Webcomic!

Postby Tophat_John » Tue Oct 21, 2008 9:14 pm

I have been doing some thinking and I have decided to cancel the webcomic because right now at this point in my life I am not ready for the responsbility, but thanks for the help. I am not going to bother Maria and interrupt her career as a artist and fiction writer and I am not going to bother whoever decides to do the webpage design for the webcomic. IT ISN'T FAIR. So, the webcomic is cancelled and I am once again doomed to a life of mediocracy. I just wanted to be someone for a change. Oh well, those are the breaks.

Here was the idea anyway:

The Funsome Fivesome:
Also, I have another possibly idea for a comic starring five woodland creatures called, The Funsome Fivesome.
Starring:

Willie (The Wolf): He's the fierce leader of the group.

Franklyn (The Fox): The fun and adventurous one of the group.

Scott (The Skunk): The shy, smelly one and the only one with contact with the human world.

Dreamer (The Deer): The woman's intuition of the group and keeps the guys in line.

Weaver (The Wolverine): The irritable and tough guy of the group.

These animals talk and live somewhere in the middle of the woods.

Your Thoughts?

To be brutally honest, it sounds kind of bland and cliché. A cast of typical characters would need an especially remarkable storyline and a whole lot of character development.

Such beautiful skin, Nick. Why so bitter underneath?

Too much sadness. :(

In my opinion, if you have that manner of thinking, you may never be ready. I was the same way for a while, thinking I couldn't handle it and that it was too daunting a task. Let me tell you, that is a HARD mindset to break out of. I mean, even when I started "Alone in a Crowd" I had those thoughts in the back of my mind. But I still forced myself to do it because I knew it was what I really wanted. Now it feels like such a natural process. Honestly, most of what holds you back will improve and get easier the more frequently you actually DO something. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to draw the comics fast enough for one thing. Now I can draw them SO much faster than before.

Sometimes you just have to take the dive, otherwise you may never get anywhere. "What's the point of living if you can't feel alive?"

Interesting idea, but cliche as has been stated.

Also, the first three characters listed made me think of "Over The Hedge".

weird.
[00:34:00] <Dermy> I do love to manipulate the standard rules of language for opportunistic effect
[00:34:06] <Dermy> Like a grammar hyena, I am
[00:34:16] <Dermy> Munching on the tasty entrails of tradition

[22:26:20] <MuffinSticks> I'm a chocolate muffin with white ears and a striped black and red tail
[22:26:35] <MuffinSticks> And exactly 6 chips

If you want to draw a comic, do it and sod what anyone else thinks. I don't draw mine for other people to read, I draw it for me. That way, even if the schedule is messed, it probably won't die as it's done for me.

Bye Bye Butterfree was the saddest thing.
Anami: Sex with a giant, black scorpion seems fun.

<SteveThePocket> Geez. I want more of this stuff now. Now I know how a horny guy on an imageboard feels.
