You didn't miss anything, trust me. I hated prom.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

She's all my fancy painted him
(I make no idle boast);
If he or you had lost a limb,
Which would have suffered most?

The only prom I went to was my senior prom, and only because a chick who had a crush on me (I like boys) made me feel really bad about not taking her. She was heartbroken that I wasn't really interested in dating her, and since she was a friend, I felt really bad for hurting her. So, since it was her senior prom too, and she was unlikely to get someone else to take her (sweet girl, but she freaked people out because she's like 6'5", and she was kinda nerdy and introverted like me), I gave her the night of her dreams as Mr. Wonderful (not like that, you pervs).

It was a fun time :-)

Didn't go to my prom.

Went to my then-girlfriend's prom. Afterwards we went to Kroger and bought a dozen 39-cent microwaveable meals and a box of popsicles. We went back to her house, ate a couple of the meals, and played video games all night.

Being in a 24-hour grocery store, at 2 AM, in a tuxedo, with my girlfriend, in a formal gown... it's a night I'll never forget.
