The Stanley Cup thread

Postby osprey » Wed Apr 16, 2008 6:03 am

I'm expecting little or no replies to this because I doubt there are many hockey fans around (a couple have left the forum in the past year). But I did this last year, so why not? Anyways:

Who is your Stanley Cup pick for this year? I've got the Canadiens over the Dallas Stars in 6 games.

Not the Canucks!

My old favorite team, why are you sodomizing yourself so? D:

Do they still play hockey? I wasn't aware that the NHL got over the strike.

Do they still play baseball? I wasn't aware that the MLB got over the strike.

It's been years, man. Every strike ends eventually Image

I am pleased that the Blackhawks finished with a positive record this year.

Being from Massachusetts though, it sucks that the Canadiens are putting a beat down on the Brew Crew.

They are down 3-1 to the Canadiens.

They were much improved this year. They missed the playoffs the past two years.

I haven't followed the NHL at all this year, but it is a nice suprise to see the Avs in the playoffs again, even if it's just because Giguere's reconstructed the 00/01 cup winning team...I wouldn't have been suprised if he'd ressurected Borque and Roy for one last playoff...dude want's to win.

No Toronto again...whatupwidat?

Go Flyers!

Our last season was the worst in the franchise's entire history, but this time, we're back with a vengeance, as our current slogan goes. We're currently up 2 games to 1 in our series against the Washington Capitals, and like every good Philadelphia sports fan, I'm hoping this will be the year we finally break the Curse of Billy Penn and win a championship.
It is a mistake to fancy that horror is associated inextricably with darkness, silence, and solitude. I found it in the glare of midafternoon, in the clangour of a metropolis...

AHAHAHAHA!

Anyway, I haven't been paying much attention to the NHL lately, as up until recently, our local team was doing well in the playoffs. They have since failed though.
