A place to talk about anything (that doesn't belong in the other forums).

Try one of the Windows XP computers at my school, and suddenly, those nightmares won't seem so bad. People can do so much to mess up those...
The computers at my school have smart cards in them, so if you do mess anything up, it messes itself right back down again on reboot.

A smart card is a method of encryption for secure communications, it has nothing to do with restoring settings. They're probably using this, it's popular with schools: http://www.faronics.com/html/deepfreeze.asp

that they are. Our school does this too, as it is a handy way to make sure you don't mess up things permanently.

Oregon Trail! What a blast from the past. I loved that game growing up. That, and Frogger. And Sonic. And.......
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

Meh, I was so old-school I played the TEXT-BASED version of Oregon Trail. The one with "TO SHOOT TYPE BANG"

It calls itself a smart card in its little wizard thing when it boots. Whether that is an accurate description is questionable. I can't remember what make it is, but it's certainly not that.

At my high school, they used to re-image all the computers if students messed with them. The network was called "Superman" and they all had a desktop with Superman that people would always mess with. One person would put a picture of the vice principle's head on Superman's body. I was well-done and very funny.

We use a program called centurion over here. If you loses or miss type the password you'll prolly have to re-image the computer. The main problem is people will turn it off so they can install something, but then never turn it back on.
