So, what's your favourite quote from the series and why, and since the book was only released the other night at a special midnight, worldwide release remember to mark your spoilers :D!

I'd have to say the whole flying incidents in the 4th book are pretty funny, along with the cricket references. Also the way the first book starts is just a classic opening :)

I gotta read those books one of these days. I've only ever seen the movie.

I particularly enjoyed lines like, "The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't." Superb imagery.

Funny, I was just talking about this. I never read the books, but I do want to. The films were promising, so I assume the book is better. :P

From what I've gathered from reading comments on the books, they are written much like the Discworld series, then?

I've never seen the movie or read the books.

Triggerpoint is my not so new webcomic, and currently under heavy work before it resurfaces.

The secret to flying is to throw yourself at the ground and miss.

Also the quote with Zaphod about there being an accident with a contraceptive and a time machine.

I can't remember my favourite line by Dent, but I think that David Mitchell would've been a better choice for him in the film...even though the film was a bit poop. I mean, a happy neat ending? That's not very Douglas Adams.

i have the awesome vhs release of the 80s television show. basicly ruined any hope of my being able to read the books...but "so long and thanks for all the fish" and the babelfish entry were always good.

Again funny. That was the conclusion I made when talking about HHG2G. :o

Terry Pratchett is the Douglas Adams of fantasy.

My brother only got as far as "yellow".
My favorite line is "You're a jerk, Arthur Dent. A complete kneebiter."

He managed it at the end of the final book, but he did kind of have to destroy everything to get there xD

*Paraphrasing*

I hate being drunk.

Whats wrong with being drunk?

Ask a glass of water sometime.
"Yes, yes I'll admit I tuned you out but in my defense its because I've already figured out you're stupid." Dr. Rodney McKay Stargate: Atlantis

"Did you say mattress?,...I did ask you not to. Now I have to get into the fish tank and sing."

I think I got to the middle of either the second or third book and gave up for lack of interest.

"Good job earthman, you saved us all."
"Oh... er, it was nothing."
"Alright then forget it."
"But..."
"I said forget it."
