ok, did you edit while i was voting? I coulda swore there were far less choices. Oh well, vote stands at rutabegas. Had i seen it, i probably would have voted Milliecratic. This is something you'll have to come up with without my help... all i can say is that even if your a democrate, that doesn't mean you have to vote that. Same goes with republican and independant. Actually, as an independant, you don't get sucked into the generalizations that seem to swel amungst the other factions. George Washingto was right when he said having a bipartisan system would degrade the government. It's either one or the other kind of mentality. Such is the americanm way, thogh, right? :sigh:

Nope, it was all these choices originally.<br><br>And, yeah, I know I don't *have* to pick a Dem if I am one, or a GOP if I'm one of those, but it's nice to have sort of a guideline. Nope, voting is optional. Is is mandatory in Australia? I guess there are advantages and disadvantages to optional voting. Odds are, those with strong political convictions and who are well educated are obviously motivated to vote, and those who sit at home and get stoned on election day won't be casting their uninformed vote. On the other hand, it's sad that voting is the just about the greatest freedom we have; it's the freedom around which we base our goernment, yet not everyone exercises that freedom. When I turn 18, I'm registering and voting at every election.<br><br>As far as a party, I'm unsure. I'm not too well educated with all the issues (I plan to pay more attention when I'm a voter). My parents are both republican, and I share many of their conservative views (although I'm with everyone else against Bush. Can't the republicans elect someone else besides Bush?) I also, however, do have a lot of liberal views, too, so I think of myself as an independent, although I plan to register as a republican so I can vote in the republican primaries and try to elect the best person for that party (or, if I like the democrats better, I'll vote for the person likely to lose and try to mess up their election)

I voted for the TWNBTD-Party. Lewellyn '04!<br><br>Mandatory voting was abolished in Holland in 1972 (IIRC), but you didn't necessarily had to vote, you just had to show up at the voting boothes (sp?) and since then (expecially the last few years) less and less people vote at each election. I believe that at the last national elections some 35% of the population voted.

The People With Nothing Better to Do option is tempting but i'd say Green. Except (and i'm guessing you are) they probably aren't that huge in America, not like in Germany.<br><br>Is this just a bit of fun or are you serious Monarx? If you're serious then i suggest you should examine your options throughly and not depend on others, even if they <i>are </i>Ozy and Millie readers. No offense anyone.

It's okay. since you know something about my plans for world domination, can I know some of yours? I won't use it, my plan is perfectly fine the way it is, i think...<br><br>there really should be a "people with nothing better to do" party. at voting time, I'm gonna just write that on the ballots. <br><br>(of the 35% who came to vote, 60% did not take it seriously, 45% just came to mess with the govt's heads, and 33% did not know where they were. and yes, that overlaps. no, this was not an accurate measurement, but an educated guess.)
