Depends what kind of game, I suppose... games that are nice tend to have nice games

I like the faster sort of classical music, myself... these seem to turn out in archaic adventure/middle-age-rts sorts of games...

Yes, I am thoroughly aware my avatar is a whole lot more appropriate on a certain other community I visit. But I don't care. Now, what are you going to do about it?
I like pretty much any, and I will switch between them at random.
Besides that, i like pretty much anything but rap or country, with some exeptions in each. Some favorite bands/artists, though, would be the Eagles, Men at Work, Billy Joel... and pretty much anyone else i can remember. Like 5hifty, i judge it on how it sounds... If I can remember them, thats a great sign that i like them, or an omen that I hate there guts.
O.K. so add this to the music I hate... music for the sole sake of commercialim and material gain, those who are not in it for the music at all, just the money. N-Sync comes to mind, as well as Backstreet Boys... and maybe Avery's Big Pants Boys band.
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.
Styx, Yes, Rush, Kansas, Moody Blues, Queensrych,Alan Parsons Project, generaly music where the lyrics pose questions and make you think.

By the way I think I may have discovered a new rule of physics at work. Did you ever notice that no matter how much bass you add to a BeeGee's song it sounds almost indentical? Sometimes if I'm feeling Evil I'll fire up a CD of bagpipe music just to wierd out my co-workers.
We're sorry but the number that you have dialed is imaginary....Please turn your phone 90 degrees and try again.
I listen to anything really, except rap I don't have any "favorite" particular type of music that I like but I do love to listen to Frou Frou and A-ha
O&M character mood currently ---> Timulty

Changed my sig due to Ozymandius. I know I haven't been around in a while but I still think about you guys. The forum website is in my favorites folder so you aren't forgotten! Maybe I'll be back when I have time off
Music I listen to... damn, that's a lot of stuff. Classical, Swing, Big Band, Classic Rock, 90's Rock, Grunge (go Nirvanna!), techno, J-pop/techno/rock. I'll also listen to nearly anything foreign. There's just an exotic quality about foreign languages I enjoy, though german grates on my nerves all too quickly... And like Msj, I can't really stand Rap. That's about it, really. Okay, so maybe not THAT many genres. But I can still weird people out by blasting some Hayashibara in my car.
I'm at presint listining to "The Battle on the Ice" from Alexander Nevsky by Sergei Prokofiev and can't help but notace almost the entire score for Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Kahn is taken from this song.

Modern movie scores are such rip offs of common clasical music.

Alright, i avoided saying this in my first post, simply to conserve space, but there are times in which me and a friend or two of mine(sometime I'll do it while im alone too), will crank the car stereo volume all the way up and play different songs, such as my Christmas with the Chipmunks tape, or a set of Dance Dance revolution songs. One memorable song was completely accidental, but I will probably never forget it. While driving to the towns local Best Buy store, I decided to turn on some music, but I really didn't know what, so I started going through my radio pre-sets. My friend in the pasenger seat was also listening, in case i missed anything good. When we came to a stoplight, I just turned to the classical music station. We listen to the last ten secons of one song, there is a bit of silence, and then the most unlikely piece of music ever starts playing.

I'm going to be a little mean and not tell you what it was yet...

well, when we hear it, we both look at each other, and roll down our windows as quickly as possible. Just as wuickly, i jam the volume up to full. By this point, I've lost it and can't stop laughing as we pass a highly populated residential zone. We both start yelling different notes comprising of the 'words' BUMMM and DADUMMM type of sounds, going along with the music. We drive by variouse stores until the song ends, getting rather strange looks from anyone who heard us. The song ends, and we both can't stop laughing. my eyes started tearing up from just how funny that was.
And what was the song? well, you know the music thats played in the background at the end of weddings? not the 'hear comes the bride' song, the other one. yes that! That will remain one of the funniest memmories of my life! this was on the radio, too! of all the random things to get played! After thinking about it for a while, I think it was more likely to hear 'The macharena' on the radio than that song!
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.
This reminds me of something I do. I have a preset on my car (or had BEFORE it got totaled *is bitter*) a baroque radio station. When I hear someone playing music too loudly I put on that station and crank up the volume. Sometimes it achieves good results sometimes not.

Music is just so great.
