With two mice, they both control the pointer (I've tried it). In theory, you could install special software to emulate a second cursor, but that could get strange if you click on two different things with each mouse.

Strange? It'd be cool. And yes, I've had my mouse wars on this computer before.. It is so funny watching the cursor when the pointer and mouse are telling it to go in opposite directions.

I've done that to other people using a VNC connection, all of a sudden I'll start moving the mouse very slightly, enough to keep the person from doing anything. For those who don't know, VNC allows one computer to remotely control another one, it's a very fun and useful tool.

I've thought of the possibility of having two mouse pointers before, and I think it would be an excellent idea in graphics programs(especially 3D), considering we have two hands, although I thought of this when playing Solitaire.
I'm right-handed, but my dad is a lefty. I can type with either hand on the cash register at work, but that's just about the only precise thing I can do left-handedly. Buttons.
I tried using my mouse left-handedly just now, but my mouse cord won't reach to the other side of my keyboard. Reaching over my keyboard with my left hand, I seem to be controlling the mouse pretty well, but I'd prefer to do that only when the mouse is on the appropriate side for that task.

Between Clarinet and Piano, I've discovered it is easier than you expect to train your hands to work seperately. And I have a motor-skill inhibiting brain injury. So most could do that... drumming included... I would have to say.
