The Lemon Jelly video is pretty cool, in an old-fashioned British sort of way. It looks like it could have been made creepy with a little tweaking.

As for anime making things better, I don't know that that's universal, but it worked in the PPG case. Now I want to see an anime rendition of Charlie Brown missing Lucy's football.
