Well, I'm a Furry. And I've given up on trying to explain it.

So I'm just a Furry. And that's about it. I have stuffed animals, and they tend to gather dust like most childhood memories, and I like art, since it's pretty, and I can relate to animals much more easily than people, but I like and try to understand both.

So...erm...yes. Well. And...such...

I only read and draw furry art, i don't go out of my way to get involved in the fandom (at times i purposely stay away). I don't know whether this makes me a furry.

I don't know what the heck those labels are. I don't get out much, as was said many times before. the good thing about this is that I don't know enough about labels to discriminate (not that I would if I did, being as learned as I am now, but this certainly helped when I was younger, i think. and if it didn't you wouldn't know anyway.) again, +ignorance+ the art of conciously choosing to ignore stuff. pity it doesn't work on bullies. but i'm getting off topic. get used to that if you arent already (ROFLMAOLOLOLOL). the bad part is that... I don't know stuff.

this is a roundabout way of saying this, but i've wondered this for a while now...

... what is a goth?
...what is the difference b/w nerd/geek?
and explain a bunch of those other ones too. Well, the high school world is one of labels and cliques. I disagree with it, too, and in an idealized world, we wouldn't have them, but, I'm a realist, and the fact stands that we're all separated by labels and words.

Headbanger - listens to heavy MEHTUL
Goth - hard to define, but stereotypically is the "tortured artist," wites/draws art with a pessimistic view of the world
Band geek - A guy in the school band (and proud of it )
Nerd - Guy in honors and AP classes that gets straight A's and stuff (see Stephan)
Punk - rebel, vocal anti-conformist, listens to punk music
Idiot/weirdo - My own clique of my friends who are booksmart and get good grades and stuff, yet lack basic sense

Around my local friends, I get the "Innocent" label. Nice that I get to be the stabilizing influence for a wanderer, a pyro, a rock, a gamer, and their other friends..

I assume he means a 'rocker,' like one who listens to rock music. I think. Don't hold me to that, I'm probably wrong.

I found a nice site full of essays on furriness here.
Kinda says people turn out furry as a result of being misfits and outcast geeks or homo/bisexuals who see humans as very imperfect.

I think they're focusing on the darker side of furry fandom, where they do do all those things furries are discriminated against.
While not a furry I have strong animal instincs. Sometimes I sem to myself to act more like an animal then a human and my emotions are skew form what seems normal.
