Well, seeing as another year's about to bite the dust, I was curious about how 2005 treated you. Now going into details is optional, though I'm half-expecting a lot of people had bad years this year.

But the question stands: How did 2005 treat you? And what happened to lead you to this conclusion?

As for myself, well, 2005 for me is going to be mostly a year I look forward to forgetting about.

2005 in the beginning brought me a big blizzard to contend with, which I drove through to get home that Saturday Evening -- A drive home I won't soon forget [even though I did make it home with myself and the car in one piece]. 2005's beginning also bought me two part time jobs that were barely making the bill payments, up until that one fateful day in late March / Early April when my old Green Eagle Summit died on me, a victim of not enough money for basic car care. It was at this point in which I decided to drop my job that was a 30-40 minute drive away and keep the local gas station one. It was at this time that I had been mulling about into a couple ads I saw for truck drivers -- At the time I was just old enough to fit the minimum profile they were looking for. So I took the plunge, and over the next month, I went to Indianapolis for truck driving school, and passed it!

That was probably one of the best points of '05, Real World news items nonwithstanding. Most of you probably still remember the times I posted far away from home -- like Dayton, Ohio, and Norman, Oklahoma [Oklahoma University Campus], and later on from Carlisle, PA through a second trucking company. The time I spent in Norman was pretty cool, the time south of Harrisburg -- Not as much. In what will most certainly be forever omitted from the Resume, my second job within the trucking industry was a disaster, and it's something I want to forget. Christmas 05 Nonwithstanding, the worst time of '05 for me.

In between these disasters, a couple of good things came about, a camping trip to the Delaware River off I-84 for a family reunion, and also another trip towards the end of the summer to Dover, Maryland for a surprise birthday party for one of my grandparents, who turned 70. Six of the seven kids that Grandpa helped raise [My dad being one of those] showed up. That party was lots of fun, and the weather was great for camping, too. We came back on the night of 9/11, over the GW Bridge, and got a pretty sight of NYC with the lights from the Twin Towers going all the way to the sky, that was a sight to see.

September faded into October, and with it, along with a quick Red Sox exit from the postseason [as well as a play that'll wind up on the Top Ten Infamous Red Sox Moments List], came me getting back into the swing of Trucking, through a third company, which took me on Columbus Day Week, and things went downhill quickly and never recovered with them. They let me go just after Thanksgiving, and I've been home since with money worries. This Christmas for me reeked of last years, and most of the year's before.

This also doesn't take into effect what the rest of the world went though -- The Tsunami in Asia, All of the Tropical Storms and Hurricanes this season [Especially Katrina], the big Earthquake in Pakistan, and of course, the highly unpopular War in Iraq, not to mention Bush making blunder after blunder in office...

Overall, 2005 will be a year many people, myself included, will want to forget about, and hope that 2006 brings something better to the table.

I'm also sorry this month didn't go so well for you. =(

Anyway, this year went better than most years for me. First of all I went on this really awesome trip to California, and went to my FAVORITE THEME PARK EVER. (And no, it's not Disneyland; it's Six Flags Magic Mountain, just because I lovvveee coasters.) I also hit some popular spots like Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood Hills, Venice Beach, Santa Monica peir, the Capitol Records building, etc. I got to see snow capped mountains for the first time in my life (who knew I'd find them in the L.A. area in the summer?). Also, I always wanted to see the Hollywood sign, now I have!

Also, I started making Midis, which are supposedly exceptional coming from those who have listened to them! I'll post my entire suite "Carviava's Fall" here if I ever get done with it... I'm stuck in the middle of movement 4 right now. Fun stuff. Also I'm the drummer/songwriter of a rocking progressive rock/MEHTUL band. Yay!

My hometown theme park closed forever. =( This is extremely tragic for me, or if nothing else WAS, I have been going for this park for 10 straight years, and many times a year also. It was my 2nd home, paved into a parking lot.

We had Hurricane Rita going on this year. Well, it shifted course, so all we got were some 70 mph gusts and some rain. But we still lost power for 25 hours, while it was 95 degrees out. D:

I'm doing cool in school.

I went to a party in Corpus Christi (in condoes, on a beach) with 200 other collegers for Spring Break. Need I say more?

I guess nothing else special happend.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

I was happy with this year.
I registered here, started using 'nix, got my Gibson guitar. (Technically, that was the verrry end of '04 but whatever), and my friend started going to the same school as me.

Yes, yes, it was a most enjoyable year for me. I am looking forward to see what 2006 has to offer, (Like FC5!!!!)

Crap! Has it been a year already since the lsat one of this topic was made!?
Woah... that did not feel like a year...

Just like in Term 4 of school, I was expecting after around week 2 I'd get back into the mentality of being in school... but it never came... I never got that mindset of school life I was stuck in the one I was in though the holidays and it felt really weird. It also made it seem like it went very fast because I never went through the mental transistions...
Have I reached some kinda mental level that's meant to be compadiable with whatever you go through in life? You no longer have ritualistic modes that get activated when you do something that you've done many times before?
Bleh, as if knowing matters.

I'd say overall 2005 was an eventful year that deserves a good song to it's name.

I'm not going to talk about all the stuff that happened, just the stuff that affected me personally.

I quit drinking in early January of this year, and have never looked back. I have no grudges with those who do, it's just not for me anymore. I'm a violent drunk, and would regularly get in fights when drunk, or beat up on my freinds or any random objects that I found.

I moved into my first privatly owned house. Granted it's a rented property, and I live with 3 other guys, but I finally feel independent from my folks.

I had a epiphany about my life; I realised that I can work pretty much any job, so long as I have my cartoon, internet, a house, a dog, and enough money to live relativly comfortably.

I tried to get my cartoon online by x-mas, but failed miserably as I suck at all things computery. Instead of listening in my High School IT classes, I was playing "chair-wars" with my mate Dave...

I got heavily into older acoustic country, folk, and blues. This is an event in itself as I was raised on grunge, and weened on punk and MEHTUL. June Tabor is god...

The last thing is that I've realised that I want to dedicate my life to the protection and care of animals. I have no idea in what field yet, but it may require emigration to another country.

As you can see, nothing much happened to me this year. Here's hoping that I can turn things around in 2006.

Pretty uneventful really... I joined Define Cynical about midway through the year, got a laptop, started my first semester of college... and... everything gets hazy around that time...

Yeah, I also started reading Discworld this year.
That which does not kill me, cripples me for life.
