*thanks god for not having a tv*
I wonder if it'll finally get it's own forum too. I've always wanted a place online where I can talk about O&M.

Yeah, I had the "pleasure" of seeing those pictures and the preview yesterday, not impressed.

It's said that because this is a superhero cartoon it won't be very good since the the who's who of superhero animation at Warner Brothers are either tied up with Justice League Unlimited or Teen Titans. Who knows, maybe it'll lose from that as well as lack of interest.

It's Arthur Dent protesting to Prosser about the demolition of his house, IIRC.

[...unWARP!!!]

Good evening.

On another forum, I said this:

There are two other forums that are discussing this, so including this one, theres a total of about 100 people and practically ALL of them are giving Loonatics a thumbs down. I really dont know what else to add to that; it was an incredible shock to me as well. Its sad that the WB has finally come down to this, after the great series of the early 90s; now they think that by placing the Looney Toons as a Dark Knight thing they will get ratings and marketing.
It is rare when a cartoon triggers automatic rejection such as what we have seen. The last time this happened to *me* was when I saw a 2-minute preview of Bonkers. Maybe it was the fact that it was such a blatant rip-off from Roger Rabbit that I rejected that show right there and then. It MIGHT have gone better if Roger had been there instead of Bonkers, who knows. Even when I saw an episode or two later, trying to give it a chance, I really couldnt find anything appealing about it. Before that, I remember an auto-reject reaction from Rude Dawg and the Dweebs (1989).
So now the WB throws this at us. Despite trying to keep in mind that these are NOT the Looney Toons we all know and love and grew up with, but their descendants, its a pill thats practically impossible to swallow. And I cant believe the uproar that would have happened if the WB had announced that they new toons ARE the Looney Toons we all knowwith a severe case of Extreme Makeover. So they have similar looks, superpowers, and slightly different names. But Buzz (rip-off from Buzz Lightyear?) did NOT have to say whats up, Doc. That is just WRONG. If he had used a slightly different intro or catch-phrase, MAYBE the shock would have been less.
As for me, being a reviewer, the trailer shocked me as much as the rest, yet it spiked my curiosity. Maybe its because for so long Ive been taught not to judge a book by its cover that I find myself hesitating to give it an automatic thumbs-down. I suppose Im waiting to see the actual series premiere to make my thumb-down more justifiedlol, Id see it as a kamikaze viewer, he he.

So now my theory is this: just how WOULD Bugs and Lola and Daffy and Taz and Wile and the RR have reacted when they were informed of this? When the WB Execs decided to give Buzz the famous line? Would they have been there during the taping? Would they have even talked to the new stars?

Pondering a bit more, I cant help but wonder: what would Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, Robert McKimson, Tex Avery, and BUGS CALLOWAY, of all people, think of what the WB is doing to their children? Tex stormed off when the WB cut off the ending of a short, would the others have walked away, too? What would Mel Blanc say about this?

Or maybemaybe its better that they arent around to see this.

But what about June Foray and Noel Blanc? And Hans Conreid and Joe Alaskey? What about all the old animators that are still around? What about all the dubbing actors that have dubbed the LT into a hundred languages? (I wonder what Bugs sounds like in Icelandic and Arabic, he he) I cant wait to hear their opinion on this new show.

So we have seen the new and improved Bugs, Daffy, Lola, Taz, Wile, and RR. Will the WB stop there? Or will other LTs get an extreme makeover as well? What will happen if they decide to extend this new trend to Foghorn, Hound Dog, Sylvester, Tweety, Granny, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Egghead, Mac and Tosh, Marvin, or those green alien vultures? I dont want to imagine what Witch Hazel will look like if she is introduced as a major villain.

Perhaps, just perhaps, now is the best time to be a Bit Player after all.

Zacatepngolas!

Until next time, remember:

I

AM

THE

J.A.M.

Good evening.

[WARP!!!]
