One very funny scene in the *shudder* live-action Scooby-Doo movie actually pokes fun at this whole thing quite well. It shows the Mystery Machine with smoke pouring out of it, and you can hear Shaggy and Scooby talking like a couple of stoners about how awesome something is. Cut to inside and you see that the smoke is coming from a cooking device, and they were talking about how awesome an eggplant sandwich is.

The live action movie was OK until scrappy was introduced as the main villain. I mean, it wasn't -great-, and I was oddly disappointed when it turned out the peoples souls WERE actually stolen, as opposed to an army of robot clones to hide the missing people taken away to slave labor camps or something outlandish and wildly implausible.
