I'm just kinda curious as to who plays what on the internet...not pay-to-play MMORPGs, the bulk of which aren't worth the money, but just FPS's and stuff. Maybe we can get together and shoot each other full of missiles to promote togetherness.

Stuff I play online:
--Freelancer (which, in all reality, might as well be an MMORPG)
--Tribes 2 (waaaaay too much)
--Return to Castle Wolfenstein
--State of Emergency (meh...I intend to play it online. At some point.)
--Starcraft (only mods though ); next time I'm home I'll grab the discs
--probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. Mention some games.

I don't really play online games, and most of the stuff you mentioned would never run on my computer as it is anyway.

Okay, I do play some things online; the forum games seem to be catching on with me. I also do some kind of roleplaying online too. It's not in a conventional rules-oriented, dice-rolling style but rather a character-driven storyline with other people that happen to be in the chatroom at the time. I like the versatility you get from it because it's like writing a novel with random people, limiting your control of the writing to your characters and stuff you put into the story.

I play RTCW, but I only play demo since I'm in a clan.

Do you have retail or ET?
If you do, but don't have demo, RTCW mp demo you can download it here, if you want to play with me.

Others I play online: Serious Sam: First and Second Encounters. If you don't have these, I suggest getting them. The co-op play is very fun.

Freelancer (way too much). You can find me on the Raw server just about 5 days a week (evenings). I'm a member of the clan called "TheGuildConfederation". You can see me as "[GC]Bendarr" (Military Wing) or "Planetary_Transport" (Merchant wing). Warning this server is heavely anti-mod and No PvP in New York.

Our clan website is :

http://www.guildconfederation.cjb.net/

Look forward to seeing you in space. This is my only Internet gameing that I do.

Roger that. I'll probably be on tomorrow evening. Look forward to seeing you! If you need help (financial for example) just ask anyone with the [GC] in front of their name.

I play some Starcraft but only on private servers. What do you mean by mods though?

Programs and files that change the gameplay, such as extended range on weapons, new ships, invulnerability, invisible (cloaking), etc are classified as Mods. mods are great for single player but really mess up a multiplayer server unless the server itself is using the same mod. A person using unauthorised mods can be banned from a server. Banning is forever and affects not only the character but all characters that that person has on the server. One server that I play uses the Freelancer :The Next Generation mod pack. This kind of mod is o.k. since the server is using it and the players are required to install it and use it on their systems. This particular modpac adds a lot of new ships from Babylon 5, Star Wars, etc. Unfortunately I've seen a number of stability issues with the 1.7 Mod. On that server I'm actually flying a NCC-1701 Enterprise! When I go on the Raw server I have to uninstall that mod pac of course.

By the way 5hifty, pretty much all servers are privately owned. If you have Freelancer installed on your comp you can run it as a server.

I use to play him, and thats what he prefered then. Now, it seems to me, that anyone playing on starcraft online now either will only play cheap money maps, the same ladder map 'LT' over and over, or the variouse UMS maps that change how you play th game, such as Scream 3, or bunker warz, or the many "cat and Mouse' variations. Oh... and if you reeeallly want to get technical, Brood War could technically be considered a Blizzard sanctioned 'Mod', and the other buyable 'expansion packs' that were out for about a month.
If you've done things right, people won't be sure if you've done anything at all.
