BTW, Lewis, I like them both.
Thank you!
I just finished one for the arrival of Fall. Anyone here ever hear of Seals and Croft? I hope so!

To the tune of "Summer Breeze" by Seals and Croft:

Watch the wind blow puffy clouds all about, birds chirp in happy song.

See the trees sway to and fro gently, you just know it won't be long!

Summer trees, losing their leaves; Things cool down and everyone is glad!

Summer trees, losing their leaves; Things cool down and everyone is glad!

Red and yellow and orange as well, all the colors blend together well.

Flowers blooming hither and yon, to give us a pleasant smell!

Summer trees, losing their leaves; Things cool down and everyone is glad!

Summer trees, losing their leaves; Things cool down and everyone is glad!

The animals know about the comming of fall. Long before we see or smell it at all.

Some migrate south and return in spring, some stay near to see what the fall may bring.

Bears plan for long naps by eating, birds mostly fly on south.

Farmers gather crops for our table, happy treats for a happy mouth.

Summer trees, losing their leaves; Things cool down and everyone is glad!

Summer trees, losing their leaves; Things cool down and everyone is glad!

Seems I killed the thread.
Damn. I'm sorry.
Maybe a poem I wrote a long time ago might help:

A Little Lamb Had Mary

A little lamb, it’s name was Tessy,
Had a girl, her name was Bessy,
The lamb decided, real quick, one day,
That she must suddenly go away.

She wandered here, and wandered there,
Until some burrs caught in her hair,
To her, this mess was real scary,
Suddenly, along comes Mary.

Mary knew just what to do,
And hunted down a bottle of goo,
She put the goo on Tessy’s coat,
And off the fir, the burrs did float!

Tessy was so happy then,
She took Mary back to her glen,
She showed Bessy what Mary did,
Bessy just screamed, and flipped her lid!

So now with Mary, the lamb will go,
Thru rain, or sleet, yes even snow,
Now you know how it got started,
And why Tessy and Bessy parted!

I wrote these two in February and March of 2008 in IRC on the spot. Just a bit of fun.

A lady friend of Nickspoon
Talked of from London to Rangoon
Said, "It wouldn't hurt
To lift up my skirt
And make poor ol' Nick swoon"

In the room something was amiss
The gloom wouldn't give way to bliss
The residents all said
"I'm bored, I'm off to bed,
It's no fun here without Liz"

Sorry, I don't take poetry advice from cold emotionless robots.

I remember the first one.

Limericks are the only acceptable form of poetry.
If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5, NIV)
Josh Woodward, Ohio Singer/Songwriter, offers his songs for free. Give him a listen.

Limericks are the only acceptable form of poetry.
Is that so? WELL THEN:

I make a post here in the thread,
Then I will take off for bed,
If you like it or not,
My rhymes can be hot!
(But my topics are sometimes dead!)

It don't matter too much to me,
For I like making poems, you see?
Sometimes right on,
Other times they're gone,
But I do them with oh so much glee!

I toss words out for a mile,
Then I arrange them into a style.
Sometimes they fit,
With my clever wit,
(Can't you see I am quite guile?)

But enough of of this clever talk,
Into your mind my words will walk,
They take a step in,
Sometimes force a grin,
Even last with you around the clock!

So now that this poem is thru,
I hope you don't find them askew,
Just a few simple words,
Told to me by some birds,
I am finished with this hullabaloo!

AND RIGHT OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD! SO HA!

No I killed it with my novel length poem which no one wants to read. No one wants to read a poem with pirates :locke: and other cool stuff?

Ah, well. My family and friends like it.
My Deviant Art page, home of my epic biography of Captain Lucius Locke, The Pirate's Tale.
Now including artwork!
