Just pretend they run on air. I mean, you already have talking dogs and stuff, why not go full out?
On that note, is it just going to be talking dogs and humans, or other animals as well? Just wondering, I'd be interested in it if it was just canines! (I know you said at the begining it was the first "all lupine" regiment, I mean like side characters)
The story is mainly about aliens, and has 3 separate and intertwining parts. These dudes are one of those parts, though they are very important to the main story too. There are still humans, and these humanoid-canines were created to develop a cure to a disease. This disease wipes out about a third of the world's human population. Then there's sort of a war for resources and these "Lupines" are created in massive numbers to bulk up the depleted ranks after the epidemic.Just pretend they run on air. So in short, no, there are no other animals that are "humanised". The world when the story takes place (the "war" is a flashback) is in the year 2109, and the world is about three-fifths Homo-sapiens, two fifths Canis-sapiens.
