Yes, I do English language (as opposed to literature) at college, and I am considering taking it on to University.<br><br>Because of circumstances not to my favour, the knowledge gap between GCSE german and german at 'A' level was too great, and I had no alternative but to drop the subject and do economics instead.<br><br>I was very much disappointed at myself for this, as I find it terrible that many of us who speak English as a first language simply are content with expecting that the rest of the world knows our languge, and are therefore too idle to learn another ourselves.<br><br>Still, my reason for choosing English works on the premise that if I can't learn another language, then I may as well have the fullest mastery of my own that I am able to attain.

I'm learning Spanish. Spanish is very direct and not too hard to get a basic concept of. I was gonna go to Spain on the school's spanish trip this spring, but it didn't happen. Maybe next year.

careful of the accents there. they tend to make all S's sound like "Th", so it sounds like everyone has a really bad lisp.

I long time ago, they had a king who had a lisp, and everyone wanted to speak the "king's Spanish," especially in south Spain, and, well, it's just stuck through the years. I've already learned all this stuff.
