well, i honestly have no clue what seasonss and episodes corespond! i've seen the show in rather few and far between viewings, since it comes on at about 2 in the morning here one day a week. My personal favorite is one where this conversation took place.

Quote: (RedDwarf)

acting captain(hologram?): theres something on the sensors, take a look, will you?
crew 1: i can't identify it sir.
acting catpain: take us to blue alert
android thing: alright (flips switch, blue light is turned on behind an "alert" sign)
crew 2 (a vampire thing???): uh, sir, i think its locking weapons on us.
acting captain: take us to red alert!
android thing: you do realize, that means i have to cahnge the bulb?

it's probably a lot funnier seeing it in action. the dinosaur episode i liked because they kept reffering to the 2000 litters of fizzy soda pop that the dinosaur drank, and it was the comanding officers favorite. "fizzy soda pop" repeated for a short time is funny, at least for me, who lives behind a slight culture differance between great britain.

British comdies are always funny, unless it's not original.

Ah, Red Dwarf, great show, haven't seen it in years.

I didn't like Season 8 much either. I liked the earlier seasons better.
Yay, I'm glad that some of you here actually like it. It ususally seems that americans and perhaps other nationalities (no offence here, it's purely an observation) just don't like it as much.

Is this because the humour is country-specific sometimes, or what?

And FoxChild yes, i like the 'lightbulb' sketch too

Android : Kryten
'Acting captain' : Rimmer
Other person : Lister
'vampire' person : Cat (felis sapiens, he's a decendant of the common house cat, which evolved over a three million year period trapped in a cargo bay)

Hmmm...never seen Red Dwarf, but I like British humor, so I guess I'll check the TV listings to see when it's on.

The best of British humor or any forein humor for that matter is Monty Python.

edit: adds the word "best"

Personally i never liked Red Dwarf apart from the episode where everything was backwards because that produced great visual comedy. The man drinking beer as it came out of his mouth back into the glass. It's funnier than it sounds, trust me.

Personally i really liked Blackadder, Father Ted, Fawlty Towers, Dad's Army and Last of the Summer Wine. All british comedies if you wondered.

Out of those, I certainly agree with you on Blackadder and Father Ted

Indeed they are. I quite enjoy watching Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers and especially Monty Python. The Young Ones I vaguely remember as being funny as well. Haven't ever seen Father Ted or Dad's Army.

And, to answer BSP's question, Red Dwarf isn't a sketch show, it's a sitcom.

i also like british comedy, but it's never on at the 'oportune' times, just either late at night, or the middle of the day when i'm not home.

I like Monty Pyhon, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, Absolutely Fabulous, and vaguely recall The Young Ones to be funny as well

Absolutely Fabulous was ok, Britain also gave us 'Who's Line is it Anyway.'
