Say, with so many icons popping in, does anyone think icons deserve its own forum? *ponders setting up a poll for that*

I dont think that they need they're own forum, but theres sure a ton of them.<br><br>Its an easy form of fan art, therefore lots come in. they will probably find themselves on the "stuff" page in a nice bundle or even they're own page thingy.<br><br>But thats all up to 5hfifty... <!--emo&:P--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... tongue.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tongue.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'd say fan work would probably lose a large chunk of its activity if that happened.

That was kind of my point. Giving the iconeers a seperate forum would greatly reduce the traffic in the fanworks, but that would give it much more room for people making original drawings and other artwork. Of course, the lines between icons and other images can be very blurry, so the distinctions would be hard to make after a while.

Yeah, but when you do something like that, in can also kill the board (People stop seeing activity, so they stop looking)

If icons were diverted into a new forum, the activity wouldn't be gone; it would simply be moved elsewhere within the discussion boards. It would be like renaming the existing board. I'm just uncertain whether other artistic endeavors would be enough to sustain the Fanworks forum without icons.

Oh, then your concerns are very well justified. I'm just hoping that people don't regard fan works as nothing more than icons. I'd really like to see other things popping up in there like writings, images that are better suited for showing off on a web page than an avatar, drawings and scans by other people, and maybe even photos of other O&M-related material.

I'm with tavis on this one. Earlier, I might not have, if it was only a small section with a few icons. If, however, the get any larger, say more than 100, then they definatly definatly need their own forum. Sorry for any spelling errors I may have in here... I just went from a hyperactive timespan to a near dead one, which kinda makes it hard to think, as I'm certain your all aware from past experience.<br>On another similar note... The forum about 'what animal would you be?' got me thinking about what i would look like as my chosen animal, so i started drawing. Oddly enough, I came up with something in the O&M style, but it's not O&M. Would something like that qualify? I know that another person has drawings of themselves as a black fox, so this doesn't apply to only me, i know that.<br>I quote this because i feel it is fitting right now...<br>"I'm being incoherent, aren't I?"

o.k. I see one thing that I left out already. It can probably be surmised, but just so it is clear, does that type of art qualify as Fan Art siutable for the 'Stuff' area?

Hey, I think that'e exactly the kind of thing I'd like to see in the fan works section. I mean, it's not exactly Ozy and Millie, but it was on topic in one of our discussions, so I'd say drawings of how we might look in the Ozy and Millie universe are fair game.<br><br>*blinks at those last two words* <!--emo&--><img src='http://definecynical.mancubus.net/forum ... /blink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blink.gif' /><!--endemo--> No pun intended.
