A jump for freedom

I actually drew this to prove to myself that I'm better now than I was 10 weeks ago.

I'm fairly certain I failed at my own challenge.

ANYWHERE.

ImageMy deviantart... though it does suck.
My FA... nothing's on it right now, so there's no point to click it.

Where to begin...

I mean that in a positive way.

And you didn't go to an art school? I wish I could have made something like that in my 2-D Design Class.

It looks good I think.

Though, what are those little grey things sticking out of his jacket? Tufts of fur?

I'd imagine so...

I assume this would be some sort of character the rest of you are familiar with somehow?

I'm still trying to work out what the katakana reads. My recognition of the characters has got rusty lately...

Yep, those are tufts of fur.

Also, they may be familiar with him since he's one of my characters.

Nope, never went to art school, and never will. It's shocking that I even signed up for an art class.

In any case (having given up on the katakana until I can reference my table back home)... you certainly seem to have got well-adjusted to a cartoony drawing style... and it fits well with the background.

... Is it insulting to draw attention to the background?

I was never able to do backgrounds all that well. I always stuck most of my characters on plain white backdrops as a result...

I wouldn't think so.

Thanks for the compliment and no, there's no problem with drawing attention to the background.
