Okay I was able to tolerate his previous excursions; but he has gone to the well one too many times on this one. I will not allow such things on this forum!

Okay I was able to tolerate his previous excursions; but he has gone to the well one too many times on this one. I will not allow such things on this forum!

I've had a teacher who tried to sound cool quite often, I think mostly to parody how bad cool actually sounds (he had difficulty doing it with a straight face). While he was going for laughter, my instinctual reaction was to shove a pen in his eye, yelling "You should be above this! Why, God, why?" While I am a pretty impulsive person, many people have come to be grateful for my restraint in these matters.

I think the slang attempt is made all the worse by what Ms. Sorkowitz said in the first panel: "children." I'm sure I and my fifth-grade class wouldn't have welcomed that form of address.
