Spring at last shows Millie's self-critical side, one that we can see quite often in the strip... An early example I can think of include the plot where she starts off with a day filled with good karma and ends up torching her overalls while trying to clean spilled hot cocoa from it. Her critical point there was how she manages to draw a line between not trying to lok cool and avoiding looking like a doofus. At least in this plot, Millicent does the judgement by herself, which provides a pleasant twist that is quintessentially Millie.

It's notable that a lot of these self-critical moments also involve her nemesis, Felicia. Felicia manages to bring out the worst in Millie's self-critical moments in events ranging from the spelling bee to the cool table to the group projects. In a sense this has been a key part of Millicent's growth as an emotionally stable fox child.

I forgot to mention this, but I also think it's funny that so many of the costume things like wigs and beards still have price tags on them.

Tavis, you've made your two hundredth post!

I don't tend to be critical of myself much often. I successfully block out all of my flaws in my mind and even sometimes posses a false sense of superiority. I'm not the "toot your own horn" type of guy either, so that's never a problem.

I am, however, critical of my artwork all the time
