it's fine that there won't be a 2020
You fool, don't you get it? On the winter solstice in 2012 humanity will be been wiped from the Earth, crops will wither, animals and plants die, winds will cease and oceans disappear and all that will be left is a cold dark husk of barren featureless rocks and dust.

And despite all that, there will still be webcomics!

We might possibly be able to do about a week of comics at a time, so it won't take us ten years to go through them. It would kind of betray the illusion of going back in time and reading the strip as it's released, but it would expedite the exploration, give us some context for several comics in a row, and... wouldn't take ten years to go through.

(Since we're all supposed to die come 2012, I guess. And I kind of want to see this to the end; I only began reading this, via this forum, during the last two arcs, and I'd like to properly experience the degeneration of what looks, for all intent and purposes, like a charming if somewhat derivative comic.)

it's half sarcasm... I have a friend who claims he can create flame balls in his palms and seriously believes in the mayan prophecy bunk, the people that really believe it and listen to all the new age garbage don't say "the world will end". Not literally, at least. That's just from the mouths of the people who are hearing about the mayan calendar and saying "BULLSHIT THATS DUMB CALENDAR ENDS WORLD ENDS, YEAH RIGHT."

Yeah, I thought it was sort of going to be retrospective commentary. The whole "I'm gonna pick up my new N Sync CD and read this webcomic" thing is kind of hokey.

I thought the whole, being-innocent-and-pretending-everything-is-brand-new-while-still-pointing-out-then-trivial-stuff-and-foreshadowing-the-future to kind of getting old already as well. lawl.

maybe after we've looked at more than three strips, we'll start having more serious stuff to say.

Well duh. I just comment on the old jokes and art in a present tense instead of pretending I saw it for the first time. That's just retarded. Sorry for being the sour puss.

Are you sure he's not a reincarnation of Tesla?
