Question regarding Ozy + Millie Books?

Postby tfitzsimmons » Sat Apr 19, 2008 2:50 am

Ive sent a number of emails to Dan through both the Lulu site and his ozy and millie email address, all of which he has ignored (or they have been removed as spam?) regarding this issue. I originally bought the first 5 Ozy + Millie books when they were published under Plan Nine Publishing. However when he moved to the new publisher Lulu, all of the book names / titles / covers were changed. I was wondering is there a comparison made between the old and new titles? Anyone able to tell me which books i already have in the new title numbers? I still enjoy reading Ozy + Millie and would love to have a complete collection, without too much overlap. So... knowing that i have the old books 1-5... which of the new books do i still need to purchase so i am up to date once again? Thanks in advance for any help!

I think you have to sort this out with the publisher.

Maybe you could take out the last book you have (the most "recent" one, if you will), look at the last strip in that book, then try to find that strip in the archives. It might help to give you a time frame, and help in letting you know where the older books left off. That's my best thought...
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

On the back cover of each of the current books, it mentions which of the older books it has material from...

Prehistrionics - "Ozy and Millie" and "Never mind Pants"
The Big Book of Ancient, Semi-Coherent Wisdom - "Never Mind Pants", "Ink and White Space"
Zen Again - "Ink and White Space", "Authentic Banana Dye"
Perpetual Motion - "Authentic Banana Dye", "Ozy and Millie V"

I assume this is where the original books left off, as "Tofu Knights" and "Closer to the Void" don't mention anything about material from a previous book. "Perpetual Motion" ends on the August 23, 2003 strip, and "Tofu Knights" picks up on January 22, 2004.

Also, his name's not Dan, it's David.

Cameron is awesome because:
-Because he has an artistic style that is both complex and minimalist. This is profound!
-He once drew me as a roadrunner. It was an actual honest to god feral roadrunner, but a roadrunner nonetheless!
-He lives in Idaho among the wilderness and stuff and I envy him for that. 3:
-He is probably one of the most personable artists on here.
-I think he's the only one of us on here who drew a fanart that made it as a guest strip on O&M. This is an accomplishment!

Yes, that might go a ways towards explaining why he did not deign to answer your messages. :P

Well, maybe the confusion came from when he used to go by "Dana."

And it all went downhill from there...

I'll admit I too was rather confused upon entering the thread, hehe.

Glad to see you got it worked out.

All of that is correct, except that the proper title of O&M 5 was "Om."

Also, I continue to prefer "Dana."

I don't care much for Lulu's, it took forever, and past the 5-day expectency date, for me to get my Perpetual Motion book.
