Quote from Blazing Sadles.

[this is a rough imitation of the famous scene]
[scene: Wilder and Little are sitting in a barn as Wilder is explaining why he's lost his talent to shoot a gun like a pro]
GENE WILDER: You see this hand [raises his right hand, which is stable and motionless]
CLEAVON LITTLE: Steady as a rock!
GENE WILDER: Yeah, but I shoot with this hand. [raises his left hand, which is wobbleing like a maniac]

Well, RunawayPo just started a poll last year on who'd play Llewellyn should Ozy & Millie be made into a TV series. Choices inluded former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean, Rat Race, Johnny English) and Alan Rickman (Die Hard, Galaxy Quest, Dogma.)

Not listed were Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, both of whom starred in X-Men 1 and 2.

In my opinion, i'd suggest John Cleese, or perhaps Sean Connery.

Well, I'd certainly not go for Cleese!

you know, I was kinda wondering, we've been talking about all famouse people in this for Llewellyns voice... but does anyone know of someone they know personally who might be able to pull it off? a cousin, friend, parrent...

... wait, TOM SERVO?!?!? thats so ingenouse, and yet so far from what i had pictured. I'd aprove simply because of the past role, though.

No, your brain cells are correct, sadly. A remake is in the works. I smell butchery in the air...

(wow, i can't even fallow that)

Actually, I heard that Johnny Depp was going be in the remake *giggles* (my stupid 16-year-old inner fan girl is deeply "in love" with Depp, so sew me...er sue me? Actually, it's being directed by Tim Burton. And as a diehard Tim Burton fan, I will have to defend the potential of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake. Roald Daul's vision was much darker in the the book than it was in the cinematic interprentation. Not to take anything away from the Gene Wilder classic. But to make a more politically correct "Chocolate Factory" then Burton's the man to go for. Burton has an imagination that is both child-like and spooky; but ultimitaly dazzling. The perfect interpretive mind to adapt a Doal novel.

And heck, this is Depp and Burton we're talking about here. When they get together all hell breaks loose.
