Sorry, but I really don't see this happening. Like, ever.
Who sleeps shall awake, greeting the shadows from the sun
Who sleeps shall awake, looking through the window of our lives
Waiting for the moment to arrive...
Show us the silence in the rise,
So that we may someday understand...

if an O&M fan game were to succeed, the best bet would be to base it on top of an existing game engine.
Maybe even in a sort of parody, like the way the Simpsons arcade game imitated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II.

Parody? They used the exact same engine.

Yes, but I think the idea was to poke fun at games of its ilk. Really, it gets pretty ridiculous for early "Simpsons" stuff.

Oh! Yeah, I agree. That's probably one of the (many) reasons you'll still see the game in modern arcades.

Just to prove you wrong (well okay, only partially >_>)

I present Mercury Madness (pre-beta-alpha-gamma version). Only a mini-game, but it still took a while to make. Heavily borrowed *COUstolenGH* from my Link Maze mini-game, so most of the graphics remain in the style of Zelda: A Link To The Past.

Regardless, hope you enjoy.

YAY SOMETHING IS HEEEEEEEREEEEEE!!!!

That was fun. :P
gforce422 is awesome because:
-He made the absolute nicest comments about me in the other topic. I didn't respond to them yet, because I suck, but they are greatly appreciated! =D
-I would say he would also be a good runner up as one of the nicest people alive.
-He joined the IRC sometimes. But not enough, I say! Chat moar =D
-He is evidently only 18 year old but he could easily pass for 25. =D
-He is a drummer like *I* am and this in itself is cool.

Forgive me for my stupidity, but what's the issue? Why are you said that this DDS file format is used? If it's some setting in Game Maker I can easily change, I'll be happy to do it. Do I need to upgrade to Game Maker 7 or whatever it's up to now rather than using 5.3a?

They really ought to rename it. I associate "DDS" with dentists.
