Bunk and such
There's more than just a couple of threads.. as for bunk, my apologies to you. I just really get into political events. Not so much a thought that the world really will change, just the atmosphere, the feeling that change is possible. And it was in the air that day, no denying it. Again, I started t...

Bearing with..
Hey, everyone has their own opinion, their own way of acclimating to new things. Me, I'm hopeful. Others, not so much. I like the differences, it's why I decided to finally start posting, rather than just reading. And as for the trenchcoats, hey, if people want to walk around like that, it IS their ...

Requirements for Band
"Must be able to grimace musically" Best line ever. Also, when Rosebud the Basselope auditioned in spandex, singing Simon and Garfunkel...classic stuff.. "Hello darkness, my old friend...".. I can see the whole arc in my head now. And when Steve Dallas "waffled" in front of the Committee. Deathtongu...

The Meadow Ticket
Well, all I can say is this: Get your hands on any Bloom County collections you can. Not only are they funny, they had some of the sharpest political critiques and commentaries on America's social structure during the '80s. Required reading, if you want to understand where we stand today, politicall...

Thanks, and precedents...
Thanks for the color verification. It's just a foible of mine(I get people to tell me what color things are on regular basis, and on occasion I still catch glimpses of color. I got to be this way via injury as a child, and sometimes the wiring re-connects just a little bit). And as for feeling force...

Ideas to Action
Well, that's where the hope thing comes into it.. as I recall from my social history, Richard Nixon was viewed with much of the same idealism and hope, and look how he turned out. But Obama gives off a different.. vibe would be the right word. All I can do is hope and pray(and I'm allowed) that he d...

The AJE article was dead-on, and thanks for giving out the link. The points are all salient, and they have it right, we need a great president now. All in all, this has been a day of many things: changes in position, realization of hopes, the beginnings of true equality, and most of all, today broug...

Cool..
Well, I like what I've seen so far(all one strip), and look forward to Monday. She said it would be a departure from O&M, so it may not catch on to some of us like others. But I do have a question: I'm color-blind pretty much across the spectrum, so my question is this: Is it all blue?

Well, it's done!
For some reason, my computer decided to go THBBBBBT and drop me offline.. oddly enough, it was for the duration of the inauguration, but I did get to watch it on the telly.. Yo-Yo Ma and john Williams, Aretha Franklin, and a speech under 20 minutes. Amazing! At least the wait is over now, and we can...

All the pomp and circumstance...
Well, it's still a big deal, so watch however you can. I know I am, but that's probably blatantly obvious.
Besides, ah heck, I'm so excited right now I'm just about useless. And yes, I know I'm that way all the time.

The Inauguration
Well, who's watching it, and who is physically there today? I really want some postings on this, for the simple reason that today is special(for a number of reasons), and it's not often we get to see History(large scale) being made, and it's even more of a rarity to see and be part of a pivotal mome...
An actual Burma Shave joke....
I haven't seen a Burma Shave sign for 22 years.. and that was in Pennsylvania. But to see one here, even like that... HA!
Thanks for that, it brought a little back for me.

Yup.
Yes, I did kind of wander in that last post.. but thanks for the flamethrower! Useful to have, easy to keep up. And as for dry and hard to follow, you should see me at night.... And as for being this other character, nope, sorry. I am who I am, to quote someone far wiser than I. If you did so...
Home, such as it is...
No, it's a nice little place called Dunkelhugel. Been there for a while now, but I'm looking to move. All I need is a few willing sacri.... er... recommendations for nice apartments. Yeah... apartments... And I think I missed a bit more than "not much". Irregardless, it's nice to be in a place with ...
Weird, huh?
As said in another thread, I named my avatar after a giant, floating eye surrounded by tentacles that lives UNDER a hill in Germany. That's not weird?
No, it's eccentric. That word sounds a lot better. And I enjoy being just as eccentric as I can. And as for the bad form, now I know.
